Details

Established in 1935 as a resting, feeding, and breeding ground for migratory birds and other wildlife, Squaw Creek National Wildlife Refuge is a 7,350 acre refuge located in northwestern Missouri. The refuge is five miles south of Mound City and 30 miles north of St. Joseph.

Loons, Grebes, Pelicans, Cormorants, Bitterns, Herons, Ibises, Swans, Geese, Ducks, Vultures, Hawks, Falcons, Gallinaceous Birds, Rails, Shorebirds, Gulls, Terns, Doves, Cuckoos, Owls, Goatsuckers, Swifts, Hummingbirds, Kingfishers, Woodpeckers, Flycatchers, Larks, Swallows, Jays, Crows, Chickadees, Nutchatches, Creepers, Wrens, Kinglets, Thrushes, Thrashers, Pipits, Waxwings, Shrikes, Starlings, Vireos, Wood Warblers, Sparrows, Meadowlarks, Blackbirds, Orioles, Finches, Sparrows.
